I love big registers! the bigger the better, I love 500 class, as they come in so many different options, they amaze me how much they keep track of! I love them on a floor cabinet, I should have mine in a few weeks! Finally!

THe first register I ever owned was given to me. It was a 130 that was missing some pieces and needed to be restored. After finding out what it was worth, I decided to sell it.

The cash register bug had bitten, and two years later I had bought another 130.

I now own three restored ones and two junkers. One with a raised letter breastplate, one with a script breastplate, and one with a metal till.

HAppy collecting!

Well, you shamed me into posting a reply Rick. blackeye

My favorites are the NCR's and non NCR in the fancy cast iron cases. Some of these registers to me have the best designed cabinets even if the mechanism isn't all that great on some.

I pretty much like them all except maybe the geometric pattern 1000 class. But my real favorites are the ones I don't have yet. Razz

I have several favorite registers. The two drawer side by side 442-E-L-2C with original lights and shades and the mahogany base all original 9 drawer floor model with a set of four original lights, front facing time clock, and eleven inch tape reel lead the list. Next would be a beautifully restored red brass 47-2-2 with a clock and personalized lid plate. These are large heavy machines that speak volumes for the NCR design and craftsmanship.

At the present time I'm restoring a small 9" Western with cherubs in the castings and a 10" Jewel Cash Register. Both are cast iron case machines that will be copper oxidized. Both have very interesting mechanisms and are considerably different from each other and definately different than the NCR mechanisms. Both are enjoyable projects to work on. The Jewel has cast iron key stems similar to those on a small American. When finished these will become a couple of my favorite registers until I find another machine I want to restore.

Sitting it the garage I have a very ealry wide scroll #3 that is one of my favorite early machines. If you collect for the love of collecting it is easy to have multiple favorite machines.

I have a nice extended base model 52 Renaissance design cash register. It is in original as found clean condition. I like this one because it is a rare design on the extended base. I also like extended base cash registers in general and I have quite a few of them.
There are other registers i like but this one comes to mind at this tme.

Their is one favorite woodie that i like in my collection . It is an early woodie with a 14000 serial number that is being restored for me at the present time .
The design on the case is shown on page 89 and 97 in volume 1. The design on the lid is what i am talking about. The 2 drawer fronts are different in the pictures
I hope to get it back in a few months completely restored correctly.

Only 7 members look at the web site.
The rest have other things to do or no interest in talking about cash registers on this web site.
That is just the way it is.

I think 1 of my favories is a 1 of a kind model 52 renaissance mounted on a model 6 extended oak wood base. I sold it to Jimmy F. it was definetly all original with a solid top. The drawer release /catch was in the center of the drawer.
Anyone ever seen another?
