Yesterday I picked up this 442-EL-2C that I bought with an absentee bid in a Michigan Auction. This same register sold at the Show Time Auction last fall for more money. I was pleasantly surprised to discover the top sign was an original sign. I saw so many repro signs on machines at the Show Time Auction that I automatically thought this was a repro too. Bought the machine in non working order. Fuse was shot in the motor, and it was half way thru a cycle. Works fine now. Mechanism was dry but very clean. Indications was in perfect conditions. Had a complete set of original keys. Both drawers had bill weights and gold coin plates with the little skeleton key for the gold plate lock. Set of three counter reset wrenches. Good strong dash pod motor. Patina is in excellent condition. Not thrilled that it is a nickel machine, but to nice a machine to do anything with but clean the case and wash the glass.

Moving big crank machines around is an excellent way to keep the heart strong and blood flowing after one has had a heart attack and bi pass surgery Them little wimpy candy store register are cute but just don't give you the resistance needed to stay healthy.
