Today I picked up a model 75 scroll all bronze machine. It has a beautiful original top sign that goes with it. The question I have that it was sitting on this base. It looks original to the machine. It has aged just like the wood base on the machine. On the bottom side it has a hole in it and four rollers to rotate on. It is very well made. You can tell a craftsman made it. Any ideas?

On some of the 79 series you have seen the swivel base so that you can spin the register sideways in tight quarters to service the printer. This was a auxsillary base that you could spin the whole machine. A lazy Susan in the middle & support rollers on the outsides.

When I was working in the service department, I had a few calls on these types of applications. They would have an electric register on a counter & be able to spin it so that the guys behind the counter could ring a sale & the guys on the floor could spin it & ring a sale. The electric cord went down in the middle of the lazy Susan. After years of use, they spun it in the same direction making the cord twist into a massive knot which eventually failed. You had to cut the cord off & fish a new one up through everything. After I charged them a couple of times, they did away with the spinning table.
