Ok you guys I am open to suggestions. I am restoring a 216. I am wire wheeling the key arms and then bugging them. My question is this, should I clear coat the key arms or not? The raw metal will be a duller color and I am hoping it brightens them up. What do you think?

Two questions, first do I pull the rod out and the keys come right out? ( I will have the flags out for repainting ) And do you have a good place to get them plated? Thank you!

remove the reel bundle and then remove the main rod and they will basically just come out..all the uppers are the same as are the lowers.
    plating depends where you live?

DEP - I am SW FL, about 100 miles south of Tampa.

Dick - thanks for letting me know. I think I am good for now. .I have the Class 700 elementary instruction book and it is providing me lots of clues. I am fairly mechanically inclined and can reason things out. It is the hidden pins and things that will stump me usually..
