Question about polishing a brass crank cash register

I saw on YouTube brass o & wondering if it is a good product to use when you like myself doesn't have fancy polishing equipment to Polish my new got brass crank national cash register that has some green on it not much but is still a beautiful machine! Also another question is if I gold leaf or paint it can I still use polish to it? Would appreciate knowing thank you,
