TWNHSTNUT created the topic: MORE SOLDER REPAIR
A machine I bought had a comb keeper that had extra hole drilled in it by someone for some unknown reason. I think it was a keeper for my "Woolworth" machine and I did not have a lead on another one. Looking to complete the machine I filled the holes with solder and shaped them as needed to fit the profile. i even dimpled one area with a nail point and hammer. The machine was going to be nickel plated and my plater was not sure how well the nickel would take to the solder but its been over two years and I have had no problem with the repair or nickel plating.
