  • BUYERS BEWARE OF HBAC GROUP FOR PARTS AND REGISTERS. I HAVE WAITED OVER 2 YEARS FOR A TOP SIGN. THEY DON`T RETURN CALLS I`M OUT $400 to this place. They have a F- rating with the better business bureau.

    HBAC GROUP is still up to their old tricks. 2 people have contacted me about not getting the their order

  • I did a google search on the HBAC Goup's BBB F Rating and found 18 negative comments. Some of which I cut and pasted below. Every time a newbie cash register guy or gal gets screwed over and ripped off increases the likelihood that they will lose interest in our hobby and drop out.

    I ordered around $342.00 in cash register restoration parts on 8/27/2019 and was told they have everything in stock and would ship the simple parts right away. There were additional parts they said they needed to send to a plater for nickeling. The charge for everything appeared on my card that day. I called two weeks later asking if the parts shipped and I was told they would be shipping packages that week. I called two weeks later and was told that they had just stamped numbers on a piece that week and I would see them that week. Two weeks later, I called and was told they were heading to the plater to get the special parts and the parts would ship that week. Two weeks later, I called and was told things were being handled and I would see the parts that week. Called again two weeks later and was told things are packed up and ready to ship. Called two weeks later (today) and their phone went to a full voice mail box where you can't leave messages. During this whole time, I also sent emails asking for updates, and never received a response. I have never received a single item from them.

    Ordered a topper for an antique typewriter on August 7. Have not received said topper. Have sent several emails which were ignored. Tried calling, but only got a message that the message box was full.

    On 5-28-19 I called HBAC Group and ordered a top sign and a set of keys for a Antique National #92 Cash Register. On 5-29-19 They charged my credit card $155.00. On 6-28-19 I still didn't receive anything from them. "Barb" said they were waiting on the Nickel plating on the top sign. She told me they would ship it ASAP. On 7-28-19 I was told she would ship the partial order the next day. She didn't. On 8-28-19 She promised to ship the order as soon as we got off of the phone. She Didn't As of 10-3-19 I have not received one item or service from them. They refuse to issue a refund, receive my emails or phone calls.

    I sent my *** 313 cash register to Barb at HBAC Group 10/30/2018 for restoration. We had traded multiple emails prior to this, beginning 1/30/2017, regarding their services and pricing. On 3/25/2019 I received an email from Barb stating "This should be done within a couple of weeks." On 4/12/2019 I received another email from Barb: "Your register will be completed next week. The cost is $1400 plus $100 shipping." And to call to make arrangements for payment. On 4/16/2019 I called Barb and paid $1500 via ****. This was the last time I have received any communication from HBAC. I have called multiple times, left voicemails, and have sent multiple emails requesting a status update--no response.

    I called this business in April 2019 to order a marble slab and rosettes for an antique #356 ******** Cash Register. I was told it would take two weeks to ship out. I was charged the price I was quoted, $110.00, on my credit card on April 17th. I have called no less than 10 times. Mostly no one answers the phone, or if I leave a message, no one calls back. I have spoken on several occasions with "Barb." She initially told me I was mailed to wrong address, that was why I had not received the marble/rosette pieces. After waiting another week, she promised I would receive it, another time that she would check with the post office, one excuse after another. It is now July and I never received it. Last time I spoke with her, about three weeks ago, I asked for my money back and she said ok. The charge is still on my credit card, she has not refunded my money.

    order on 11/2/18 (2) top sign for antique brass gas register 313 for a total price of 232.00 as of today. That amount was taken out of my account. To date have not received them, made phone calls to HBAC in the early months JAN, FEB, MAR APRIL and talking with a BARB she would look in to it and each month got a different excuse why they hadn't shipped ,but now trying to contact someone the message is that the mailbox is full or goes to voice mail. left many message but no response. looking for top sign to be shipped or refund of the 232.00

    Barb and her husband dropped off 2 cash registers at my home that they repaired Oct 2017, and took 2 lighted brass top signs with them to do minor repairs, which she said I would have back in a week. I started calling about a month later and she would say 'your order is packed up ready to be shipped". This was her response for the first 6 months, since then she doesn't answer my calls or emails. If you want to deal with a lying thief, you've found the right place.

    I continued to be lied to by the owner Barb She is now screening my calls and will not respond to my messages. When I finally received the cash register, after being misled about the ship date for over a month, I was very disappointed to see the following. The glass was broken and chipped in several places, they kept my original weight rollers, the keys were replaced with cheap stickers that keep falling off, the keys do not work or provide access to open the side door and several screws are missing on the top piece. It has been well over a month since I last spoke with Barb and was told that all issues would be resolved. She said that they had new glass cut and would send me a new set of keys and return my weight rollers. Now she will not answer my phone calls and their mailbox is full at their business address. I am very frustrated by her dishonesty and lack of response. I lived up to my end of the bargain by promptly paying them. Unfortunately, I was unable to inspect their work beforehand.

    Poor craftsmanship, stickers are ridiculously crooked, they kept my original bill weight rollers, I was promised keys, never got them, and the most important item, the top sign was never send. I’ve made a dozen calls and e-mails in the past 10 weeks and have been lied to by Barb. I’m disgusted that they’re blowing me off

    I have ordered many parts from HBAC over the last 10 months. I have to say that for the most part I have got what I ordered but only after calling Barb 3 to 5 times about the ship date. Back in May of 2018 I order several parts for a register I was working on including a topper. She said everything was in stock and I gave her my credit card to use when the package shipped. After the typical 3 or 4 calls - with the, always excuses that were hard to believe - most of the parts arrived. Except the $115 topper. Since then I have sent over 20 emails, talked to Barb 5 or six times with typical excuses (my brother drilled the holes wrong, we have to order a new casting because of that, the casting company hasn't shipped it to us, etc) Then there was a period of no contact may be for 3 weeks. The answering machine was either full or you would get a busy signal. I even had Barb's cell number that she would answer my texts for a while and then that went without response. I have documented 20 to 25 contacts with Barb since they originally didn't ship my top sign over. I have offered her to pay me back on a payment plan of $20 per month, but I think they sit in there and read the emails and laugh at all of us that have been taken advantage of. If anyone is reading this...I would advise you to never think about doing business with HBAC.

    3 more people have contacted me about getting screwed by HBAC. I wonder just how many people They have STOLEN MONEY from.

    I emailed Barb and told her I needed parts for my 332 and 313 she got back to me in 1 day 2X......
    I dont even own a 313 or 332 just testing....I dont need parts for anything...
