NCR 6000 was created by jsebastian
Hello,
I recently finished a refurbishment of an NCR 6000 series. Picture attached. It was mostly cleaning, lubricating and painting. The machine works but the subtotal/total function, activated by the lever, does not work. It always reads “Total 0.00". I was wondering if anyone might have an idea as to what might be a solution. Also, does anyone have a repair manual for the 6000 series for sale?
Thank you for your time,
John, Escondido, CA

The counter wheels are gummed up , the zero stops on keyboard may not be releasing . Is the machine doing a double cycle?

When you say counter wheels, I assume you mean the display, which on this machine are flags that move up and down, unless I am not understanding. Are you referring to the geared wheels which rotate to activate the particular flags raising?
Yes, the machine will do double cycles in the add position after I try to do a total but If I fiddle with the levers atop the large gear in the picture, it will go back to single cycle. If I try total again, I goes back to double cycle. I enjoy fixing things but I don't really know what I am doing.
Thank you for your help on this!
