Has anyone had any luck repairing lid locks on detail/total adder machines? I have tried taking them apart, sanding everything smooth, oiling and putting back together with no success.

I have a few that I have had to swap out because they didn’t work but I would like to try to resurrect them.

Any insight would be much appreciated.

    Thanks!

No, I tried a few times decades ago. Now I just have them plated, use a razor blade around the latch opening, lubricate them well, and keep turning the key until it works smoothly. There are no more lock smiths around today that can actually repair. Most, if not all are just key cutters if they have a duplicate key to use as a patterns.
