These gears came out of a Dial machine. However, I am confident they were originally made for another purpose; but I don't know what that might have been. They are similar to the gears on a crank handle and are also similar to a few lid counters. Instead of having some "made", I thought perhaps someone in our hobby may have them. Thanks.

I had the opportunity to look close at a dial register & was surprised that the counter was just like a total adder but with bigger wheels. I often wondered why we were using the detail adder style counters when we had built machines with a total adder in it. I think the wheels are original to the dial register . The wheels are scalloped like a 313 but I'm not sure what the big studs are there for & I don't have access to one to check it. Jimmy has lots. see if he can get you a close up of a counter?? I don't think you'll find any ??
