  • I saw this on the National Brass Cash Register & Other Brands Facebook Forum this afternoon and believe it eloquently described the state of today's depressed cash register collecting hobby.

    "Just finishing this one. I can get these later model 1000 series for next to nothing." A little tuning, a little paint, some graphics, a little magic and “voila” a nice display piece. Less than twenty five bucks in this one. Collecting for the “financially disabled”. They are VERY marketable!"

    No wonder only 14 cash register collectors shown up at the Big Morphy Cash Register Auction, and only 64 winning bidders for the 141 cash register lots being auctioned off. Guess that was because there were no metal 1000 class bargains, the "VERY marketable" registers. Sadly enough two of our well know collectors who collect for profit gave supportive posts to this new pioneer in 2020 cash register collecting.
