I just found this 311. Have not purchased it yet. Not sure of value. It works and drawer opens, but it's been in the owners family for years and supposedly, untouched. Base is rough and cabinet needs cleaned and polished, but otherwise looks pretty good. Although, I just noticed, the drawer is not the original. The drawer is from a nickel plated 313, with a different serial number. Don't know the story behind that. Can anyone give me a idea of approximate value, as is, and what it would be worth if I bought it and cleaned and lubed it? See attached pictures.

Also, what are the major differences between a 311 and a 313? I see this 311 does not have the marble slab, and it has only the one counter. No Customer/No Sale counter. Is that always the case? and the only differences?

Thanks!

Rob,
For the value, a good source of prices is in the member collection of the website. The winning bid from the recent Showtime auction and last years Eric Hamby auction are listed. A local purchase does come without shipping or auction premium. Checking sold listings in eBay also help identify a good offer.

$400. It was a good deal so I took it. Now since I got a good price on it I can do a total restoration on it.

Not sure if NAV was asking about the 311 RP bought, or the 311 I found. The owner of the one I found is asking $600 on Craigslist, but I'm pretty sure he would take $400 for it. I'm wondering if it's worth that.

A register is worth what you are willing to pay. If you think you would enjoy having it in your collection buy it. There is not a lot of money to be made on registers anymore. I bought mine because I wanted to add it to my collection. I am going to totally restore it.
Take care and enjoy your new find.

Not all the long ago, you couldn't touch one for less than $800. How times have changed.
