I had a guy e-mail me today about a model 141. It is a lever machine for a department store. It looks like a square box on a wooden base. They had a flat brass cabinet painted black with gold pin stripping. He wanted to know how to take it off the base. All I could visualize was to take the cabinet off & un-bolt it from the base like a 400. He said there weren't any cabinet screws. Then I saw one on eBay & sure enough there aren't any screws. The one that was in the picture had a handle that was held on with a nut or bolt & I saw a little lever on the middle front that I thought might be a release for the cabinet? I do have 2 of these myself but they are up on a shelf that makes it too hard to pull down. I did go out & look at it. The lever in the front is just a drawer release. My handle doesn't have a bolt but doesn't seem to have a release unless it would be the locks on the side?
My question is "How do you get the case off?". Does anyone have a book on these machine or know what keys go in the locks. Any help will be appreciated. Call Dick 410-647-9451
I will buy a book if you have it. Also while I'm at it Has anyone ever seen a book on the 135 other than the 4 page service letter? Does anyone have a 300/700 service book that shows the printer?
