  • A Surprise Thank You. was created by NAV
At the fall CRCC meeting I said I would only post for sale items that included price, location, and a photo or two. Thus the absence of my posting. This past week I posted a 337 with an original top sign for a lady in Pennsylvania on both our web site and the three cash register Facebook pages. To my surprise, the lady sent me a nice Thank You email. Her register SOLD. I'm happy for her, and even happier that finally someone said Thank You.
    Hello Mr. Navratil,

I wanted to let you know that after posting the cash register, I wanted to sell, I was able to sell it fairly local and the gentleman picked it up yesterday.

I just wanted to thank you for what you did for me. The buyer told me he researched it through the serial number I believe, and he told me it was made in 1911. It was in a hotel that is still in existence here in Alburtis, PA and the hotel has been renovated and is now called the Alburtis Tavern.

I only wish that my husband would have restored it many years ago. It was his fathers and we have had it for many years just sitting in the basement waiting for some TLC.

I don't know the value of it, but I did get the full asking price of $300.00 so I hope I made a wise decision to sell it at that price. I had no idea it would sell so quickly.

Again, my thanks for your kindness and for putting it out there on the web for your members to see. If you plan on going to the collector's event in Denver, PA, have a safe trip.

Not only did the lady send a thank you, she followed it with a compliment:

I was worried that perhaps I was asking too much or perhaps not enough, but I could only find one on the internet and it was restored and they were asking 700.00 I believe. I too, am happy it sold so quick because I am going to downsize and I will be putting my home up for sale, hopefully soon. It was a pleasure to have your help and input and if all of the collectors are as nice and kind as you, it must be a great group.
