I can see one mounting hole being slightly off center, but having both holes MORE than slightly off.
That is a telltale sign of a reproduction, not matter how good the background casting is. Keep in mind,
These reproduction signs have been made since the 1970's. Some of these can be 40+ years old now.

Here's my two cents. Both holes are on the inside. So either the distance between the holes is not correct, or the feet are in the wrong place. Either condition is not likely in an original sign. If you have a known repro, lay the repro on top of these signs. If they are the same size then your signs are repro's. If the repro is smaller then your signs are original. Recasting an original anything results in about a 2.6% smaller object in all three linear dimensions due to shrinkage during cooling. Doesn't sound like much but the result is obvious, particularly in the length which is the largest dimension. That's why they cast extra metal on the outside of each foot so they can drill the holes at the proper distance apart. It's easy to shape feet to look original so don't count on the quality of the feet to show originality!!!!

I am grateful for all the interesting and sincere feedback from veteran collectors. I only have these 2 renaissance style signs and they are identical in size so it seems they are either both original or both reproductions. The signs look great and fit nicely on my model 50 machines so either way life is good :-) Thanks again for the input. I appreciate your insight.

these are definetly repros. the mounting holes are raised at the edges and off center, Originals are never like that..the lines on the bottom of the feet are just because they were put on a sanding disc wheel. I do it everyday.
I make perfect repros just like these.

I swap out key stems all the time , remove and replace at the same time..but never any brass parts or top signs. Original parts are always discernible.
